Time Rider Shtuff For Bikers came to be in Aug 2008.  It was started because I was told to “Quit whining and do something about it.”  I’ve been riding anything I could get my hands on with 2 wheels and a motor since I was 8 years old and I’m scratching on 52’s door now.  

I was visiting my parents in July of 08 and had returned from a 6 hour motorcycle ride, sunburned and wind burned as usual.  I was hurting, complaining and asking my Mom if she had anything I could use.  Yes, even at 52 mothers are still the best ones to whine to.  Wives have heard it so often they don’t want to hear it anymore.

My Mom gave me this awesome gel and spray that instantly made my skin feel better and helped it heal twice as fast as I was used to.  She also asked why I wasn’t wearing any sunscreen.  I explained that the products available all had problems I didn’t want to put up with.  That was when I heard “Quit whining and do something about it”.  You’ve heard the statement “Mother knows best”; when talking about my mother and skin care, there is no truer statement.

I was introduced to a lab that is one of the best and specialized in skin protection products.  I learned more about skin care and protection than any lifelong biker should have to endure.  I took one for the team and learned this stuff so you wouldn’t have to.  You can take advantage of my torture and the only thing you have to do is; try out this “Shtuff” and see if what I’m saying isn’t so!

I checked with some biker friends and we created a list of things we’d like to see and the sizes we’d like to have, hence the slogan “Created by bikers for bikers”.  We tested everything and had things that didn’t work to our satisfaction reformulated.  Let’s face it, unlike other sports/hobbies, motorcyclists have to cope with skin protection concerns far beyond sun exposure.  Traveling at high speeds we sandblast our skin, we get smacked by rocks and we get hit or bit by bugs.  We usually end up with some type of burn whether from the wind, sun or a hot part. We tend to wear expensive gloves that we don’t want to get a cream or some sticky spray all over.  We also can’t afford to have some crap that we put on our face mix with sweat and burn our eyes.  Sweat is bad enough.

When people see me after checking out the site, I’m always asked how we came up with the names.  The answer to that question is; I came up with most of the names and it’s only because I’ve been a biker all my life and I’m a bit deranged!  How else am I going to interest you big tough bikers? The name “Shtuff” actually came from my father.  When I was young he would look in my room and tell me to clean up my “SHHH-TUFF” so the name is in his honor.

Most of our products start with a hydroponically grown aloe base with added botanicals and minerals. (This is all the crap I had to learn so you wouldn’t) In other words, it’s good for you, will help ease pain and will heal.  We made everything we could into a spray so you wouldn’t have to remove your gloves. We made everything small and concentrated because as any biker knows, space is a limited commodity on a bike.  Most of the products are multipurpose.

Bikers wear leathers for protection and to look cool.  So, if you’re going to have skin exposed, you can now to protect it and sooth it while maintaining your coolness doing it!  Our product names also give you the perfect opportunity to abuse your friends, and what's more fun than that!
